Fitness guru Arnold Schwarzenegger continues to enlighten the fitness community with his unbiased and resourceful advice on living a healthier life. What he calls the most positive corner of the internet, Arnold’s Pump Club’s latest installment brought in fresh tips on living a longer life. The former athlete noted that while all the focus is taken away by getting stronger, there is one simple exercise that adds massively to the longevity of life.

Arnie suggested in his newsletter that walking is beneficial for health, but a certain facet of exercise has added benefits. Moreover, this aspect also reduces the risks of cardiovascular diseases, as per research.

According to the newsletter, the 76-year-old pro stated that the world mostly focuses on muscle building and getting stronger as a solution to living longer. Thus, he notes it as a crucial “piece of the puzzle” but not the only exercise that solves the problem. “Research also suggests that fast walkers live longer than those who can’t maintain a decent pace,” Arnie revealed.

He referred to the results of research conducted on over 50,000 people that people who move faster have a lower risk of getting affected by cardiovascular diseases. The percentage was deduced as more than 50 percent after the age of 60.

Whereas earlier research on the topic revealed that slow walkers suffering from cardiovascular risks have triple times more chances than fast walkers. The IFBB champion added in the newsletter, “And yet another study discovered that for every one meter per second faster, you can move, you see an increase in lifespan.” Likewise, the former bodybuilder shared another insightful tip on diet once.

Arnie once shared his firm insights into the various myths related to healthy food items that have restricted people from consuming them. He discussed how Kale, despite being an essential vegetable, was being avoided because it was deemed as unhealthy. He urged the community to not be too wary of food and try it out before trashing it for good.

“If you want to start seeing results, stop reacting to fear-driven marketing,” the athlete’s statement on the matter read. He called out brands for spreading such misinformation and creating a sense of fear among people to simply enhance their business growth.
